(visit in English prior to opening time for the general public)
Saturday, December 9th, 2017 10:15 am sharp - 11:45 am
at the
Museum Yves Saint Laurent Paris
5 avenue Marceau
75116 Paris
Members and guests will dive into the world of the famous couturier, Yves Saint Laurent.
Recently opened on October 3rd, 2017, this is the first museum of such size entirely dedicated to the work of one of the most famous couturiers of the 20th century.
Just like Yves Saint Laurent's clients of the time, you will enter the museum through the historic front door. This unique and special moment will take you through sumptuous salons, whose original decor has been preserved.
Once in the exhibition spaces, you will be treated to a show of some of Yves Saint Laurent's most emblematic designs - the tuxedo jacket, the Saharienne, the trench coat, the jumpsuit - designs which revolutionised fashion.
The many documents you will see during your visit will also give you the opportunity to discover the secrets of how an haute couture house works: original sketches, workshop sheets, collection boards, photographs, etc.
But at the heart of your visit will be Yves Saint Laurent's studio, the inner sanctum of this house of haute couture.
Your trip will end among works from the great artists who inspired the designer throughout his life, including Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse and Mondrian.
