The Musée des Arts décoratif pays hommage to the shoe, in all its forms, in an exhibition titled 'Marche et démarches', a history of the shoe. What is the status of the shoe? How do we walk in the West and elsewhere? This fascinating exhibition attempts to answer these questions over a period ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day. From the emergence of the notion of shoes to walk in, at the end of the 19th century, to the cult of the small foot in China and Europe, as well as shoes for sport, dance, military marching, and magic shoes, this exhibition is full of surprises. Saturday January 11th, 2020 11:30AM The visit will start at 11:45AM sharp. Location: The Musée des Arts Décoratifs: 107 Rue de Rivoli 75001 Paris
