is pleased to invite you to a special luncheon conference on
Women's Rights in Iran,
Basis for a Revolution in Progress
with
Maneli Mirkhan Nakhai
Strategy Consultant and Systemic Intelligence Expert
and
Shaparak Saleh
International Lawyer
Advocate for Women's Rights
In September of 2022, 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini died in the custody of the Iranian police after being arrested for improperly wearing her hijab. Ever since, Iran has been gripped by an intense wave of anti-establishment protests, with the unrest steadily growing. A fundamental characteristic of this, unrest-turned-movement, recognized since as a revolution, has been the wide participation of Iranian women, from all ages and backgrounds, rapidly joined by men, demanding regime change and fundamental transformation of the political system.
Join us for this thought-provoking luncheon conference (in English) as we welcome two renowned Women's Rights advocates in honor of International Women's Day.
The talk will begin with Shaparak Saleh sharing about human rights issues and more specifically, women's rights under the Islamic Republic and the challenges facing women in Iran - past, present and future.
Maneli Mirkhan Nakhai will then enrich the discussion by sharing her expert knowledge on why the current revolutionary movement initiated by women in Iran is truly innovative, what its strengths are and how it will impact the world of tomorrow - near and far.
Shaparak Saleh and Maneli Mirkhan Nakhai are funding members of Femme Azadi (“freedom” in Persian), an association created by a dozen Franco-Iranian women following the revolutionary uprising in September 2022. Femme Azadi's mission is to carry the voice of women who are fighting to end the gender apartheid regime.

About Maneli Mirkhan and Shaparak Saleh
As members of a collective called Femme Azadi, or Woman Freedom, Ms. Mirkan and Ms. Saleh are supporting what they call “a revolution” in Iran. The group has posted a viral video, with more than 4.3 million views, filmed showing the Iranian regime’s repression of its population. They have staged weekly protests, including mock public executions in front of the Louvre and the National Assembly, and thanks to their work with Paris's major Anne Hildago have even managed to get the revolution’s slogan Women. Life. Freedom. up on the Eiffel Tower.
Femme Azadi is also engaging the political realm, rallying more than one hundered public figures to sign an open letter to French President Emmanuel Macron asking him to take action regarding the mass executions. In December 2022 the group managed to get close to one hundered French political figures from both sides of the aisle to sponsor Iranians on death row, calling for help stopping their execution, as part of a joint campaign with Azadi 4 Iran, Iran Justice and ZZE.
