Climate change: Current state and future of the world and society
With the earth's average global temperature +1ºC above pre-industrial levels, its sea levels having risen by 20 centimeters and ice in the polar regions melting faster than anyone could have predicted, global warming is, and remains, one of the greatest challenges our planet has ever faced.
After having travelled by dog sled to the North Pole raising public awareness on the danger of climate change and global warming, H.S.H. Prince Albert II launched the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in 2006, dedicated to fighting climate change, preserving water and defending biodiversity.
Listen as H.S.H. candidly speaks to us about how only solidarity and cooperation among nations will help tackle this global threat and how the Principality of Monaco is contributing to the common effort, leading the way by having, amongst other actions, defined clear guidelines for a carbon-free economy in the country (with an ambitious goal of being carbon-neutral by 2050).

After having graduated from Amherst College in 1981, Prince Albert II carried out a military training period within the French Navy on board the helicopter carrier “Jeanne d’Arc”. In July 2005, He officially succeeded His father, Prince Rainier III.
As Head of State and President of His Foundation, Prince Albert II has been honored by numerous prizes from organizations around the world for His contribution and actions in favor of the protection of our environment.
He is also a former Olympian athlete in Bobsleigh (5 participations at the Winter Olympic games), Member of the IOC and since 2014 Chairman of the IOC Sustainable and Legacy Commission.

Dress Code:
The Cercle de l’Union Interalliée requires men to wear jacket and tie. Jeans and sports shoes are not permitted.
Sanitary Guidelines:

or equivalent is required for entrance into the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée.
