invites you to a private guided tour (in English) of
Elliott Erwitt
* 1928
French-American Photographer
Umbrella Jump
Elliott Erwitt, Paris, 1989
Elliott Erwitt's unique style of immortalizing moments of everyday life, combining emotion and humor, undeniably make him one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. Renowned for his street scenes, Erwitt is equally famed for his photographs of such celebrated personalities as Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy, Charles De Gaulle, Che Guevara and Alfred Hitchcock.
Musée Maillol's vast retrospective pays homage to Erwitt by exploring close to a dozen themes defined by the artist himself. In addition to some of his iconic photographs such as Umbrella Jump and Dog Legs, the exhibition showcases a much broader body of work, both profound and light-hearted, through an exceptional collection of black and white as well color photographs from 1949 to 2000.
Register now for this highly anticipated exhibition mere days after its opening, dedicated to an artist for whom "photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them".
