About our tour guides:
Elizabeth Khawajkie, was the International Coordinator of the UNESCO Associated Schools Project (ASPnet), the world’s largest network of schools and one of UNESCO’s most fruitful and sustained initiatives. Starting off with 33 schools in 15 member states in 1953, the network, today in its 60th year of existence, comprises more than 9700 educational institutions. Along with its member institutions and in line with the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, it is a leading partner in the promotion of quality education worldwide.
Sigrid Niedermayer started off as a German Associate expert in Elizabeth's team and was then hired by UNESCO to develop and expand ASPnet when Elizabeth went into retirement. Tri-lingual in German, English and French, Sigrid has been a guide to numerous important visitors from a myriad of UNESCO's member countries.
