Bibliothèque National de France
Site François-Mitterrand

After our mesmerizing visit of BnF Richelieu earlier his year, we are thrilled to be able to offer a private guided tour of the Site François-Mitterrand, considered to be one of the largest and most modern libraries in the world.
Inaugurated in 1995 and named after former French President François Mitterrand, one is at first glance awestruck by its architecture, designed by Dominique Perrault, with four L-shaped glass towers standing at different angles around a large esplanade. Each tower is named after a significant figure in French literature and scholarship: François Mitterrand, André Malraux, Robert Desnos, and Paul Éluard.
The library holds an extensive collection of books, manuscripts, maps, prints, and other documents. It serves as a national repository for French publications, with a focus on preserving and providing access to a wide array of cultural and intellectual heritage.
One of its key features is the use of innovative technology for cataloging and retrieving materials, including an automated storage and retrieval system that houses millions of books. Visitors can access reading rooms, exhibitions, and various cultural events hosted within its premises.
Join us for this exclusive private guided tour of an exceptional site that stands as a symbol of France's commitment to preserving knowledge, making it accessible to the public while at the same time showcasing a stunning modern architectural design.
