Cyrus R. Vance Jr. is a partner at multinational firm Baker McKenzie LLP in New York, one of the world's largest and most prestigious law firms. He serves as the Global Chair of the Cybersecurity Practice.  A renowned trial attorney, he specializes in high-stakes litigation, global investigations, white-collar crime, sanctions enforcement, compliance, and cybersecurity. Cyrus Vance has recently relocated with his family to the longstanding Paris office of Baker McKenzie (at which Christine Lagarde, head of the European Central Bank, started her legal career in the 1980s). The American Club of Paris is pleased to welcome Cyrus to the American community through this event.

Before joining Baker McKenzie, Cyrus served three terms as Manhattan District Attorney, overseeing landmark cases (notably, Harvey Weinstein's conviction and the U.S. Supreme Court case in Trump v. Vance). During his terms as Manhattan DA, Cyrus headed a team of over 600 prosecutors, managing 100,000 cases annually, including complex domestic and international business crimes.

Cyrus co-founded New York City's Cyber Critical Infrastructure Task Force and the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), a global non-profit focused on mitigating cyber risks.

A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Cyrus is a respected speaker and advocate, testifying before Congress and other agencies on terrorism, cybercrime, corporate transparency, and justice reform.

He holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University, and is admitted to practice in New York, Washington, D.C., and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
