The American Club was honored to welcome Ambassador Gómez Robledo, Mexican Ambassador to France, to a Club luncheon at the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée. He discussed the current relation between the United States and Mexico, and how the climate has changed since the election of President Trump.

We were thrilled to welcome him, and around 40 members and their guests enjoyed a stimulating conversation in a beautiful setting.

A small group of members was granted an exclusive visit of the famed Tour d'Argent restaurant in July. We were served champagne, white wine and hors-d'œuvres. The guided visit included the history of the location and the legendary restauranteur Claude Terrail. We were able to visit the dining room, the private dining room, and of course the famed wine cellar with more than 350,000 bottles.

Thanks to Roo Bookaroo for the photos!

15 members and guests had a wonderful afternoon on February 4th on a private guided visit to the Hotel de Lauzun on Ile St. Louis with a very interesting English-speaking guide. The Hôtel de Lauzun, on the Quai d'Anjou, is comparable to the Hotel Lambert among the few 'hotels particuliers' that retain their rich carved, painted, mirrored and gilded interiors from the time of Louis XIV. Members enjoyed a private guided visit of the interior and exterior of the mansion, as well as re-discovering beautiful Ile St. Louis.
